Cardiac nurse, avid reader and considering writing down some of these short stories bouncing around in my head.

     I like reads which flow smoothly and logically from one point to the next. I like authors who take me into their worlds; who can cast the line and hook me with their ideas. I'll go almost anywhere in my imagination through books but the author must set it up and make it believable - I love to suspend disbelief and get carried away in the adventures and escapades of the characters. I confess, though, I read more for pleasure and to escape in my thoughts to other places than I do for self-improvement or education.

     I am very supportive of Independent authors. They feed my desire for more reading content, often they offer up stories that are unique or at least have a different slant from the tried and true (and sometimes blah) formula stories. I also especially like having the choice now when I can buy 4-5 Indie stories oftentimes for less than the cost of one of the Greedy top five publishers (the S. Jobs Ipad caused pricing model). I whole-heartedly dislike how they seem to be trying to suppress e-books and I will fight against their domination in whatever small manner I can. [ One of my hot buttons, obviously, so I won't say more on that LOL]

     Sometimes I AM frustrated with poorly edited ebooks from Independents and some small house publishers but I do understand that it's costly and very time-consuming to properly edit. If I am reading an indie/small house and find common problems I will generally try to ask if the author is interested in my findings and if so send them a private email that itemizes the problems found. I am not an English major so I don't pretend to find every itty bitty thing but if I can help make a better product I am more than happy to lend what help/support I can.

     I am retired from Verizon Communications where I mostly worked as the Senior Accountant handling Employee Benefits in Corporate Books. As an adult (mid 30's), I returned to school and earned both a BA and MBA degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Through the years I assisted and/or worked with various teams writing policies, procedures and LOTS of responses to Audit questions. This experience has been beneficial to my review writing skill-set since I am accustomed to writing concise and specific narratives.

     My husband and I live on a little private lake 100 miles east of Dallas, Texas. It is our haven and escape from the big city noise and traffic. We enjoy our quiet, small community and share our home with our four five curious, quirky, beautiful felines. We enjoy retirement and love being able to do things and go places on the spur of the moment.

A preschool teacher by day and a wife & mom by night. Although I love all of these titles, I can now add published author to the list of things I can consider myself. I was proud the day I got married, I was proud the day I gave birth to each of my boys, (now grown men) and I was proud when I got my certification to teach. My newest accomplishment in being a published author is my latest proud moment. Writing all my life for fun, family and friends, creating my own story and original characters has been a wonderful journey, one I hope is long lived. It is what I want the rest of my life to be about.
